King St. Area Residents

Bringing neighbours together

Committee meeting 2nd March 2026

Discussion started with a review of the annual residents “fun filled evening”/AGM. A few things to note for next year. The speaker received a mixed reaction; the concept of guest speaker is good, but more thought about what would work for 2026. The timing of the next one needs to avoid Thursdays; since in December every Thursday is a local parade, the city is jam packed and makes access to St Peters tricky. St Peters church came in for a bit of criticism as the venue (cold!) but it’s free and so we keep it for 2026.

Potholes have been marked up by highways so they are en-route for repair, revised parking restrictions on King Street/Water tower street now being processed and expected to be implemented in the new few months and finally we are speaking with our councillor to try and get action on resolving the negative impact of queuing for the Hunter Street Multi Storey on vehicular access to the rear of kings buildings.
